The aboriginal inhabitants of Zambales are the Aeta people. The Aeta people were then forced to reside in the mountains because of the influx of Ilocano, Pangasinense, Tagalog, and Kapampangan people into Zambales. It is believed that the name "Zambales" was derived from the word "Samba" which means worship because when the spaniards colonized Zambales, they observed the locals were worshipping "Anitos" or spirits that roamed the land.

Zambales was founded in 1572 by the spaniards and was later formalized as a province by the Americans in August 28, 1901, with Iba being proclaimed as its capital.

Subic bay was once home to a United States Naval base due to its strategic location since 1898. The Americans withdrew from Subic Bay in 1991 due to the expiration of the visiting forces agreement between the United States and the Philippines, and the subsequent refusal of the Philippine senate to extend this agreement.

On June 15, 1991, mount Pinatubo, located at the borders of Zambales, Tarlac, and Pampanga, violently erupted after more than 5 centuries of lying dormant and is considered as the world's largest volcanic eruption of the past 100 years. The eruption prompted the damage of many infrastructures and claimed the lives of 657 people.

As Nelson Mandela said, education is the most powerful weapon which we can use to change the world. Aetas must be given quality education for them to reach their full potential and serve their contribution to society. The Philippines will grow and advance as a nation if more people receive a quality education. According to Patiu (2018), many parents feel that their children have equal access to school and that their children have the same rights as other students. They thought that having access to resources, receiving a good education, and having helpful teachers were all useful to the students' education. Some children discontinue studying for a variety of reasons, including a lack of enthusiasm for learning, poverty, inability to write, and difficulty comprehending (Patiu, 2018). Education must be a right and everyone must have access to it, most especially the indigenous people.
