But he just turned off the radio and asked if he could get me anything before he went to bed. A few weeks later, the Taliban banned kite fighting. And two year later, in 1998, they massacred the Hazaras in Mazar-i-Sharif

Paraphrase: Rahim Khan tells Hassan that the war is over and the peace was coming back only for the taliban to masacred the Hazaras.

Anaylisis: This quote is ctirtical to the book beacuse it shows irony to the reader. When Rahim Khan explains that there will be peace again to Hassan he deosnt give a reaction. My explantain to this qould be that even though the war would be over it will still not stop people hurting the hazaras like hassan. This shows irnoy beacuse after the war there was suppose to be peacse just for the Hazaras to get masacred.

This make Amir angry and decide to leave him.

Anaylisis: This quote is important to the book beacuse if it tone. Amir tone is important beacuse it shows the frustation and anger he has aganist Rahim Khan and Baba during that moment. This is imprtant beacuse it shows background to Hassan past that Amir previously deidnt know about and know almst 25 year later Amir is just finding out about this. Amir responds badly to that infomation rasing his voice at Rahim Khan for lying to him.

He had wept, wept, when Ali announced he and Hassan were leaving us.

Paraphrase: Amir gets flashbacks on when he asked Baba if they considered getting new sevants. That when Baba snapped at Amir and said that all of them are famliy. Baba wept when Ali and Hassan both left.

Analyisis: This flashback from Amir is importnat to the text beacuse it shows why Baba had wept. Baba had cryed not beacuse Ali and Hassan were long servants with them but beacuse Hassan was Baba son.
