Chapter 2 reflected information on advantages of diversity in the work place, corporate social responsibility, strategies for increasing social responsiveness of an organization, corporate structure and strategies for promoting diversity and explain how the role managers have promotes diversity within the organization. Having a breakdown of ways to recruit a variety of talent really peaked my interest. I recently worked for a marketing firm in which we hosted a job fair at UNF for all the following graduates. We recieved more diversity in that one event than we did in 4 months! I shared a link that gives more insight on corporate responsibility.

Chapter 4 was mainly about creating structure. That involves problem solving, learning how to communicate with your employer, how to set standards/expectations. When it applies to interviewing a canidate the interviewer must figure out the persons strengths, weaknesses, and what they're in this for to see if they fit the cut. I've done my fair share of interviewing recruits but this helped me find some habits to focus on for next time.

Let me tell you why, I've always percieved an evaluation as a step closer to promotion or reaching promotion. Criticism is hard on everyone but if you can manage to put your pride aside and look at the bigger picture you'd see the positivity in it! During my management training program we had a set of requirements we had to meet for a consecutive amt of weeks before reaching the next level. Creating and using these realistic short term goals not only got me promoted quickly but helped me keep rhino vision when my goals seem unattainable.
"Well-run organizations and effective programs are those that can demonstrate the achievement of results. Results are derived from good management. Good management is based on good decision making. Good decision making depends on good information. Good information requires good data and careful analysis of the data. These are all critical elements of evaluation.

Evaluation refers to a periodic process of gathering data and then analyzing or ordering it in such a way that the resulting information can be used to determine whether your organization or program is effectively carrying out planned activities, and the extent to which it is achieving its stated objectives and anticipated results."

This chapter taught be the difference/relationship between data and information.
