When we add techniques to our practice such as Social Emotional Learning and trauma-informed practice, we can make better connections that will help them thrive. 
By taking the time to get to know each student as an individual, and each of their unique interests, we begin to establish trusting relationships between children and caregivers. Such relationships are the foundation of all other learning, as children need this trust in order to gain confidence to explore and learn.  It is equally as important to create a classroom environment that is welcoming and supports all learners.  When children feel safe, and establish trust in the caregiver, they thrive.
