We want to have a small dead  tree stage right so the audience can focus of the struggles of the main character the whole time. We will be using earth tones to color the stage to portray a middle eastern battle ground scene, in an arid desert. We chose to do a more minimal set with only background pieces, like huts that are falling apart and ruble,  so the audience can pay attention to the main characters as well as feel the isolation of the battleground where he is left.  We also want to use a very versatile set to smooth out transitions between past and present. The openness and versatility, for example using the main hut as both the desert scene on one side and a window on the other to represent present day, of the set speaks to the raw and ever shifting emotions the soldier feels while he’s preparing for his eminent death.
