He was born and raised in Tennessee.
He began singing gospel. However, when that didn't sell as good as before, he included some rockabilly rhythms in his music. He then became very famous.
He sang alongside June Carter in most of his shows, marrying her 9 years after first meeting her. They both had children from previously failed marriages. Their biggest hits were songs like Ring of Fire or Jackson.
Johnny Cash passed away in February 26th, 2003, just months after his beloved wife June had passed.
