what is YouTube?
YouTube is a video sharing service where users can watch, like, share, comment and upload their own videos. The video service can be accessed on PCs, laptops, tablets and via mobile phones, besides you can create playlists to organize videos and group videos together.

Advantages:

What is Skype?


Skype is software that enables the world's conversations. Advantages:

- Skype is useful in business, It allows the people to work from the home.
- Skype technology makes it much easier for the family and the friends to reconnect.
- Skype can bring societies together, it is video chat with friends call across the world as it is free communication.
- Video conference scheduling is much more flexible because the participants can join from the work, the school or the home.
- Skype technology is a free communication with an app that can be downloaded onto iPhones and Android phones.

Disadvantages of Skype

- There is a risk of the technical issues of Skype, as when there are dropped connections, the camera malfunctions and choppy video streams, it will quickly make a video conference frustrating or useless.
- There is a loss of interpersonal connections as you can see everyone on the chat, and the government could potentially enable this program with wiretapping capabilities.
- Skype technology requires Wi-Fi or 3G service to run, the international calls cost money, and there are also cost factors to consider as everyone needs the proper equipment to participate on the call which could present financial challenges.

A brief description of how it works: 
Instagram is a social network and a mobile application at the same time, which allows its users to upload images and videos with multiple photographic effects such as filters, frames, retro colors, etc., to later share those images on the same platform or on other social networks.

Advantages:
- You can take a picture or video, then post to Instagram, It’s easy, It is a fast, beautiful and fun way to share your life with friends and family, you can even share to Facebook, Twiiter, Tumblr and it is a new way to see the world. 
- It increases the artistic ability by taking the pictures, It improves the communication with people, Friend lists get increased, the professional network also increases which is helpful, and you can exchange the information with friends and the family in an original way.

Disadvantages:
- Instagram is only available as an iPhone and Android app, This photo-sharing app excludes the mobile users who have Windows Mobile, BlackBerry, or Linux, there are still many consumers that you will not be able to reach when you use Instagram in promoting your business.
- It has limited features, It enables the users to resize the images and enhance the pictures through a variety of filters
- If your profile is not private you may be in serious risk due to all can see your profile and updates. This is more dangerous for  students and people under 18 years old.

How we would implement it in ESL:
If an update is planned to come out as a post, there is the option of "Select multiple", we mean to use this feature in order to in only one post to have many images... With this in mind, students are allowed to create stories, recipes, manuals and even short videos.
Instagram is a social media that students know how to use as if they were masters and many of them have lots of followers, we can take advantage of this fac and every now, and then to make some activities or tasks in which the top three students with more hearths in their post would win some extra score.

How does TikTok work?

What is pinterest?

It is a visual social network that, in a way, we could define it as a visual discovery tool, which you can use to find ideas for your projects and interests.

How does it work?

¿Cómo funciona YouTube?
YouTube es un sencillo servicio en la nube, similar a Gmail, que te permite crear una cuenta con tu canal de YouTube. Una vez creado el canal, puedes subir tus vídeos en casi cualquier formato moderno.
Tus vídeos pueden ser públicos o privados, puedes agruparlos por secciones (números así como etiquetas) y listas de reproducción (útiles para concatenar varios vídeos, por ejemplo, de un curso) y poco más.

Ventajas
  • Crear comunidades a través de las suscripciones.

¿Cómo se podría utilizar de forma innovadora y creativa en ESL?

La Academia Khan fue una de las pioneras en el uso de YouTube como plataforma para la difusión de contenidos educativos. Ha creado cientos de vídeos donde expertos profesores explican en profundidad, a través de diferentes lecciones, temas tan variados como Química, Gramática, Cálculo, Trigonometría, Biología, Finanzas, Economía, Historia, Geografía, Civismo, y muchos más temas, a diferentes niveles y orientados a todo tipo de estudiantes. 

Academia Khan, demostró que es posible ofrecer todo tipo de lecciones gratuitas y acumular millones de visitas que varios empezaron a emularlo y la red social se convirtió en uno de los sitios más activos en materia de educación en todo el mundo.
YouTube es una plataforma importante para la educación, tanto para los profesores e instituciones que desean utilizar la tecnología como aliada en sus clases, como para aquellas personas que buscan aprender por su cuenta y utilizan el vídeo como el mejor formato para incorporar nuevos conocimientos.

What it is twitter?
It is a two-way communication service with which you can share information of various kinds quickly, easily and free of charge.
How can I apply it in education?
A teacher can report on Twitter the progress in their classes, mentioning what activities are carried out, the reason or even giving more information about them. The objective of this is not only to collaborate with the community and give ideas to other users (teachers, parents, experts in the field; whoever is on the other side), but also to keep a record of what is being done in class. Open "threads" of historical events. Through questions and answers; share what you learn.
Example:
-Use a hashtag (#) to have virtual conversations about the class.-Send direct messages (DM) to your students inviting them to participate in a conversation or sharing content.-Make summaries of 140 characters with the key information of the topics to be discussed.
Advantages:
