Throughout a student's time in the online program, faculty must be monitoring engagement, accountability, awareness, self control, and bias. The following themes stood out as primary remediation practices within these programs; 
- personal counseling
- clinical coursework (adjustments were made to coursework or additional requirements were given). 
- assignments (additional assignments were given such as workshops, readings, or written assignments). 
- additional remediation procedures (this included meeting with faculty and considering status within the program).
