I think, that sence the cover of the book is called the Giver, that Jonas’s will become a giver. Jonas’s doesn’t know what his Assignment will be yet, but I can make an infrence that Jones will become a giver based on the way he acts and the cover of the book.

So, I think that they characters are in some alternate universe. I think this is because who calls their age the 11’s or the 7’s. Also who else is proud of their child when she says “And when I saw him do this I put my fist up like this” and my mom smiled.” Who smiles when their kid is thinking about punching someone.

My next inference is the people have to live certain life style. They can only have two children that aren't even theirs (they have different birth parents and are given to other parents, whenever they come of new age they have new responsibilities, and get a bike at age 9. My inference is that people the elders are the founders (they found and made the community that Jonas lives in). I think this because, Jonas is talking about how the elders decides what job you have and decides whether you will break the rules or you didn't, Jonas always says the elders are always watching you.

I think that Jona's community is after our world was destroyed, because their language is the same but some words and phrases are different. Also, they do things differently as if to prevent the same thing from happening again.

I think that when Jonas meets the Giver he's going to change his perspective on how the world around him is. Though he's going to refuse accept since he's world as how it is is quite perfect so far.
