The scenes describes in paragraph 10 and 11 contributes to the theme of "be yourself" because Juan decided to make something that is base on what he likes and what his friends like. According to the text it states, "Then he showed his notebook to his mother, and she nodded approvingly. Together, they headed to the sewing room for pattern tracing paper and scissors". This evidence shows that Juan found a way that he can sew while having something that he and his friends like. In the text it also states, "He place his finished creation on his bed". This shows that Juan probably knew that it will rain the next day so he put the soccer ball on his bed so when Anthony came into the room he saw the oversized soccer ball. This is how the scenes describes in paragraph 10 and 11 contributes to the theme of "be yourself".

Paragraph 10 And 11 contribute to the theme of following your heart by showing an example of following your heart. For example in the text it states "After dinner, Juan got out his notebook and began sketching. Then he showed his notebook to his mother, and she nodded approvingly. Together, they headed to the sewing room for pattern tracing paper and scissors." This shows that Juan is following his heart and doing sewing despite the possibility of his friends making fun of him for it. Another example is in the text it states "Finally, he used fabric markers to add details. He placed his finished creation on his bed.". This shows that Juan is proud of his creation and has the confidence to show it to other people and this also shows the after effects of following his heart. This is what paragraph 10 and 11 shows about the theme .

The scene described in paragraph 10 contribute to the development of the theme. the theme of the story is that if you love something but your friends don't does not mean they will tease you.Now if they tease you can tell them don't judge a book by it's cover.Juan and his friends loves soccer ball. but Juan likes sewing more than soccer. So he thought his friends would tease him if he told them that he likes sewing. In paragraph 11 it states that, When Anthony saw the oversized soccer ball on Juan's bed, he asked Juan where he got it. Anthony does not know that Juan made that oversized soccer ball by sewing. So that means that Anthony likes the creation.

The scenes in paragraph 10 and 11 contributes to the theme of "follow your heart" because Juan loves sketching and sewing and stitching and his does that because he is following what he likes the most. According to the text," After dinner, Juan got out his notebook and began sketching. Then he showed his mother, and she nodded approvingly. Together, they headed to the sewing room for pattern tracing paper and scissors." This evidence shows that he likes creating and planning for sewing and he is following his desire. According to the text," Juan cut out two large round pieces of cloth and began stitching them together , leaving one section open. He turned the cloth inside out, stuffed the opening with cotton battling, and then sewed up the open section. Finally, he used fabric markers to add details. He placed his finished creation on his bed." This evidence shows that he puts time and effort into what he loves.
