Knit n Bitch (not exact name but you know what I mean- this could be a space for open and safe discussion about world issues relating to anything - whilst something is being created)
This can be done virtually with a community- (also depends on the cost of postage- I wonder if Amy would have any funding for this)
the idea is so for everyone to knit a square and post it to someone in the group and this chain continues until something has been created- eg scarf/rug anything.
It could also be anything from Knit/Embroidery/print weave but as long as it is a square that can be attached to another square of the same size.
Not sure if this is a very feasible project at the minute as it could cost a little bit of money.

For example : jacket can be sent back to the design house by purchase point in 5 years and the customer can get a replacement item for 50% it would make us aware of tracking disposability.
2. if old t shirts could be shredded into small particles and be used to fill pillows and duvets instead of duck down and goose down. We need to make this practice the norm.

3.

Bessie - A world where supply chains had to be TRANSPARENT - no subcontractor after subcontractor - shrugging off accountability for garment workers poor working and living conditions and production implications on the local environment (social and ecological). Each step of manufacture and sourcing could be traced to an individual/company and those that violate human rights or environmental laws face potentially being fed to a dragon (kind of joke)

Megan - Is the a possibility of helping establish industries again with local mills - this may be a collaborative approach from many different industries. EG. a working mill,(production completed on sight from treating fibre, to dying and then weaving, but also if artist and designers have residence in house- as such a large space there may be many designers working) - but also an exhibition space, a place for community and learning, a space for artists in residence? A place to train through apprenticeship. Also a place of heritage with a wealth of knowledge.
Converting the once abandoned sight to regenerate a business/community/economy - Could government or funders pay to fill abandoned spaces with live and encouraging inhabitants back to once flourishing places? Heritage business fund? Fund new business and enterprise and encourages young creatives!
