Symphony for the City of the Dead by M.T. Anderson Corey Ryan

This Non-fiction book by MT Anderson tells the tales of Shostakovich's life journey, his tale of being stranded in WWII Russia, the horrors of Leningrad during WWII and overall hardships faced in Russia. I found this book fascinating. Nope, I don't listen to too much classical music and didn't listen to the symphony until I was finished reading it. This book is worth reading for the cannibal chapter alone! Yes, it's pretty long, but again, it's worth it if you like WWII, history or the power of music. I give this 5 out of 5 stars! Read it!

Fallout by Ellen Hopkins is connected to a series of other books, it is in the series Crank which is the third book. This book is about their mother Kristina leaving them behind and they're having to battle things out because of her drug addiction, moreover this focuses more on her children Hunter, Autumn, and Summer whom also have their own problems they're trying to sort out. I would definitely recommend this book because it really captivated the reader into reading more since you dont know where to start reading in some pages and you can take pretty good notes down.

I would rate this book a 4 out of 5.

We Beat The Street is a book based on three boys who have lived with bad influences in their lives up till adulthood. Sam(pson) and george have been friends before they met Rameck. All three boys get accepted to University High School, but Rameck gets in later on. Eventually all three boys become a trio. One day, deciding to cut their class and head to the gym, they were stopped. They went to the libary and stayed to hear a presentation. That presentation changed all of their lives. The book gives us three different perspectives. Each person has stories to tell. But most important, this book is based on how their friendship is the reason why they all got to their dreams.

I give this book a 5/5. I recommend reading this if you want to hear a true, inspiring, story. This book gives pages that include real letters from all three doctors.

Will they make it out alive?
This book best describes the horrifying experiences of war and just how hard it was to keep everyone alive.
This book was pretty bloody, with a lot of blood and guts but I rate it a 4 out of 5. It describes war for what it is and it doesn't downplay it at all.

This book is kinda boring in the beginning but it gets better. Theres this girl, Lakshmi, who lives in Nepal. Shes pretty poor, not only becuase theres a lot of mouths to feed but because her stepfather spends all thier money. He even stooped so slow, that he ended up seling Lakshmi for money. Lakshim and her sister believe she was going to be a maid and work off her debt, and send her extra money home but what happened to her was far from that. I would give this book a 2.5 stars out of 5, i would say its pretty boring though out the whole book.

He suffers by tormenting things that come his way and soon realizes nobody else sees them, He travels to places in his sleep. For example, The Mariana Trench, the deepest point of the earth. Her brother was the only one capable of helping her understand, he was shot dead. Throughout this whole book, she tries to understand the emotions and words people are saying.
For me, this was a 3.5, and it's maybe because I have a bias of how the book is told. I don't like how much drama there is just my opinion. Without the bias, it would be a 4. I would recommend it to anyone interested in Asperger's syndrome.

Some astronomers are theorizing that a asteroid might hit the moon and people seem excited. They are outside and waiting for what they think might be one of the best moments in their life. And Miranda, the main character is talking with her father excited because his wife is pregnant. But once the asteroid hits the moon things take turns. People start panicking because the moon is suddenly getting closer to the Earth. And this causes many problems which even forces Miranda to ask, "Are we the only people left?" I give this book a 7/10 because the action was pretty inconsistent but when the action did appear, it drew me back into the book. The author also did a great job of including realistic scenarios for a scary event like this.

I liked how they used the characters backstory to help them pass levels trough the rooms. i will give this book a 5/5 stars. :D

Different seasons is a collection of 4 Stephen King's tales. We are talking about the 3rd tale called "The body". The body is about 4 Oregon boys, Gordie, Vern, Teddy, and Chris. They are normal 12 year-old kids until a stranger had been accidentally killed near their rural homes. Vern gets curious about it and he gives the idea to his friend group to go find the stranger's body since any cops have find him yet, they realize that if they find the body, they can show it to the cops and they can win money. The 4 boys get ready to look for the body, everything is going great, until a group of high school seniors heard the plan, they are planning to find the body before Gordie, Vern, Chris, and Teddy. The four boys had to walk a lot to find it, compare to the high school seniors, the high school seniors are driving to get the body first. The 4 boys had a lot to walk and for them, it was a long trip. When both groups find the body at the same time, they start fighting to see who is gonna take the body, the high school students are threatening the 4 12 year-old boys until Gordie takes a gun out and the high school seniors leave.

This book is definitely worth reading, there's a lot of good and exciting parts of it.

I give this book a 4/5 stars.

The Ghosts of Heaven includes four stories of different time lines. One is caveman history, the second is between 1500s/1600s, the third is based off maybe 1920s or 30s, and the final story is way further into the future. There's parallels between the four perspectives. The second and third story really opened my eyes and see how hard it was for certain people in the past. We all have heard the history of innocent people being accused of witchcraft, but this book gives a better understanding how there were crazy advantages given for people to manipulate those rumors. The book has also open up a perspective on how wrongly "well" people believe they could "fix" others. There's many angry and sad parts in all stories. I highly recommend this book if you want to understand things that don't often come to mind. It opens up many realizations.
4/5.

The book Aristotle and Dante Dive Into the Waters of the World is continued off the first book. The book is about two boys who are gay during the 1980s. Both boys are in high school and have faced many difficulties and unfortunate events. Aristotle struggles to get comfortable with saying Dante’s his boyfriend and struggles to feel peace with the ghost of his living brother: His brother left his life when he was just six years old and no one spoke of him or what he did. There’s many exciting surprises but there’s heart aching moments as well. Aristotle and Dante experience new openings in their relationship and are destined to make it work. Aristotle has risked and done a lot to make sure Dante is okay, and he goes on to finally open up to others.

I truly recommend reading the first book and then onto this one. Both books open a new perspective when reading. This book definitely has made me incredibly sad due to something happening, and which IS worth reading for. If you’re a passionate reader you should definitely ask for a chance to read it. Definitely a 5/5 review.

¨Thin Wood Walls¨ by David Patneaude is a historical fiction book that is based on an 11-year-old Japanese-American boy named Joseph, he lived in Oregon during 1941 and he tells the story of what it was like to go from being a normal kid/citizen, and then to become a prisoner in a government concentration camp after his father was wrongfully imprisoned and questioned by the FBI due to suspicion of him being a spy for the Japanese. It was an interesting story to see the harsh conditions Joseph and his family had to suffer through even though they were law-abiding citizens, it was one of the best books I've read recently and i would rate it a 9/10 for sure.
