My 'Growth Target'

1. My 'Growth Target' is to complete the final section of my Forest School qualification (Level 3)

2. We are using the Leuven scale to monitor each young persons' well-being and participation in O.L.

3. To continue to integrate Blooms into my teaching and learning.

At the start of each session. I asked each of the young people how they are feeling (thumbs up= good, thumbs middle= o.k. thumbs down= sad. As a result of doing this & their responses to me. I have identified several young people who are/were being subjected to abuse at home.

Leuven Scale 2K & Lesson Plan

The Wednesday Wisdom session that enjoyed the most was the one which focused on the importance of Play in learning process. It was a great reminder of just how many different types of play there are.

Exploring nature through sensory activities and team-building exercises in a Forest School setting.

Liam’s lesson began with a welcoming circle, followed by sensory activities and team-building tasks. Students engaged eagerly, exploring the area and using their senses to connect with nature. Liam adopted a hands-on approach, encouraging students to explore and ask open-ended questions to deepen their thinking. Teamwork was emphasized through a shelter-building activity, fostering cooperation and problem-solving skills.

Liam showed awareness of individual needs, supporting students with different levels of co\nfidence. The lesson was safe and well-managed.

Strengths:

Excellent use of the outdoor environment
Strong student engagement and participation
Effective teamwork facilitation

Areas for Development:

More opportunities for reflective discussion could help consolidate learning.

The lesson was engaging, well-paced and aligned with the Forest School approach, successfully nurturing both practical and social skills. Minor adjustments could assist reflective thinking and problem-solving. Overall, a positive learning experience.
