A word that conveys the character of Harriet Tubman is perseverance. Tubman was persistent and determined to help slaves that can not help themselves. She escaped slavery but still went back to help others even when it put her own life on the line. Tubman once took a group of eleven slaves and headed North, even though she was going on a route that was unfamiliar to her. This group was not helped by the abolitionist at the first stop, and they were very hungry, cold and scared. However, Harriet Tubman was very supportive of them and encouraged them to keep going, she never lost hope.

She knows she could be captured and killed in the process of doing this, but instead decides to go back again and again and risk her own life for others.

A word that best conveys the character of Harriet Tubman is perseverant. Tubman risked her and the eleven slaves' lives just to be set free. She also stated that this was her biggest group of run aways, but this didn't stop her from the journey to Canada. Along the way, Tubman was shut down by the first safe house because there were too many people. This obstacle made Tubman hold her head up high because she was not giving up. She reassured the run aways and continued to walk in the extremely cold weather to the next safe house. This shows that Tubman was never going to give up until she set the slaves free in Canada. She then devoted the next six years of freeing slaves, no matter how big or how small the group and the journey was.

The word that best describes Harriet Tubman's character is intrepidness. Tubman is determined to help the escaped slaves reach Canada, even though she does not know the route very well; she's never traveled it before. On top of not knowing the route, Tubman is also leading her largest group ever, and one of the first stops on the Underground Railroad turns her and her group away, leaving them to fend for themselves in the cold. Even when the odds were definitely not in her favor, Tubman persevered with her group, risking both her life as well as theirs as they make the perilous journey. Tubman does not give up, and is relentless, and will not give up until she reached her goal, which was to get the eleven fugitive slaves and herself to Canada to be free. She constantly put her life on the line to help others escape to freedom, demonstrating unwavering determination and loyalty. Throughout her lifetime, she travelled to and from Maryland in order to lead slaves to freedom; and she made all the difference for the thousand or so slaves that made it to freedom in the North under her guidance.
The formal definition for intrepidness is "resolutely fearless; dauntless". This definition definitely describes the kind of person that Tubman was.

Despite having a proper and safe life in Canada Tubman continued to rescue slaves and continued to fight to end slavery which shows she has perseverance and persistence in what she believes in.

One word that describes Harriet Tubman is audacity. Audacity is "willingness to take bold risks" and that exactly what Tubman did. She risked her life and many fugitive slaves in the hopes of finding freedom in Canada. Tubman also wasn't very sure on how to do the journey with 11 runaways and she was unclear of the route to take to Canada. However that didn't make her turn around and give up she made a bold and risky decision to keep going which ended up paying off.
