         <title>Forest Reserve Act Passed - March 3, 1891</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This act allowed the president to designate public land into forest reserves. It took two decades to get this law passed because of the concern of exploitative logging. Because of this act, three presidents, President Benjamin Harrison, Grover Cleveland, and William McKinley established a total of 45 million acres of forest reserves.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Theodore Roosevelt in Office - September 14, 1901</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Theodore Roosevelt was assumed the President of the US after William McKinley was assassinated on September 6, 1901. Later in 1904, he was elected as president and given a full term. He helped the conservation movement by establishing 150 national forests, 51 federal bird reserves, 4 national game preserves, 5 national parks, and 18 national monuments. In total, it all covers over 230 million acres of land.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Lassen Volcanic National Park - August 9, 1916</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This national park was established because there was a lot of volcanic activity in the area. 1 year before this park was established, on May 22, 1915, the area erupted. A huge mushroom-shaped cloud of ash went over 30,000 feet into the air. This eruption also altered the surrounding area.</div>]]></description>
