Due to the land constrain in Singapore, the government has replaced the old housing establishment called 'SIT' to a new establishment called 'HDB'. HDB flats were first established on the 1st of Febuary 1960. At that time, Hdb flats were still in building progression. Flats only started appearing in 1964-1965.
