A Christian marriage is a sacrament of the Holy Matrimony, in which the couple agrees to mirror the union of Christ. The marriage should be self-sacrifice, and devotion imitating the qualities of Christ. A traditional wedding takes place in a church. The bride is taken down the isle by her parents to the groom. At the altar, the bride and groom give each other rings. After the newly wedded couple kiss, they are followed down the isle by the wedding party. Roman catholic weddings take place during Mass, those who are at the wedding receive Holy Communion.

For Christians, they believe that Christ's resurrection is proof that death can be a passage to eternal life. For Catholics, they believe that at the moment of death that they are judged according to how they lived their life. Those who regret their sins and lived justly go to heaven. The sinful will suffer in hell. The belief in external life is common to all religions. A sacrament called the Extreme Unction or Anointing the Sick is when a extremely sick person asks for forgiveness for his or her sins. If the person is unable to do so, the minister does it in his or her stead. Christian funerals in some countries are called a wake, or period of mourning and prayer.
