Quarantine took away the social life I did not know I had, leaving me alone to adapt to the solitude and silence. This new isolation created self-doubt, hopelessness, and complete despair. While this state of depression was only a few months, it opened my eyes to how others deal with these conditions for their whole lives. I want to guide people through their hardships in life, to let them know that there is someone to lean on in times of need. Even though I had only one person to talk to during my depressive state, I want others to have at least that one person. Having one friend, family member, or even doctor to rely on is what I want my future patients to have. Creating a trusting environment where others understand that it is safe and completely okay to be vulnerable in order to get help is the only true goal I have in life.

Thy body does not know rest and always waves to dear old Orion
How shall thy continue when duty weighs on thy shoulders

So find thy potion that will heal thy crippling heart
And persuade how thy will begin another tomorrow

My poem connects to transcendentalism because it depicts trying to seek simplicity, however, continually failing due to the responsibilities I have to bear.
