An imagist uses the senses to capture the emotion that is in the images (Brooks 69 ). You will come across four Imagist pieces in this collection. An image of a fall flower. This image focuses on the flower in full bloom and will focus on the emotion of joy and anticipation. The poem “Life”, that describes a girl dying and the emotion of sadness as you view the work. The poem “Sun”, that is about a beautiful sunset that is rising to begin the morning and the joy that it may bring to the new day. The flower is full bloom in the fall. That brings joy to some people as winter is approaching. As this fall flower is in full bloom at the beginning of a beautiful fall day, you are able to anticipate winter and the joys it brings to people’s lives.The close up picture of the flower focuses just on how pretty the flower is because it is in full bloom. Instead of focusing on the background of the flower. The blurry grass behind the flower gives the image background but doesn't take away from the flower itself.  The image is imagistic because if focuses just on the fall flower. Being in the emergency room with the monitors beeping paints the picture that something serious happened to someone instead of being in a doctor's office and getting a shot. The setting of the emergency room and all the monitors portrays the image that something bad has happened and that is imagistic. Her touch turns cold means that she is about to die and that portrays that the girl is dying. It portrays the sadness of losing someone close to you and the anticipation of what is to come if life. The viewer can picture the beautiful sunset rising to begin the autumn day. Autumn is beginning to become colder and that is why the word brisk was used in this poem. In the original poem “Sun”, The radiant glow of the sun can leave the viewer thinking of how bright it makes the world and the joy that the new day may bring. All the words in this poem describe one thing and that is imagism. The radiant glow of the sun above the hill shows the sun starting to rise and bringing light into the world. To begin the brisk autumn day shows that the beginning of the autumn day will be a little chilly but the sunrise will start the day. The clouds also make the sky gloomy and dark. The lightning signifies there is a storm and the ground now being wet is significant by telling the viewer that it is raining. With the ground now wet you can picture the image of rain coming down from the sky. The description of the rain makes this an imagistic piece by painting a picture of the rain coming down from the clouds that have just rolled in. The words, clouds fill the sky was put in the piece because when it rains clouse come fill the sky and there is little to no blue sky left when it starts to rain. Lightning strikes was put in because when it rains hard most of the time lightning strikes and that means that there is a storm and it is raining or about is about to rain.
