The music i listen to is mostly rap and a Mexican style of music called "corridos". In "corridos" the female gender in the songs is mostly used as a women who got away type of way. Rap certainly uses the image of women in a very different way because in women are portrayed as being hoes in most of the rap music i know. There are women in the rap game who do not add a good image to the women because they are mostly famous for having a body with curves. An example is nicki minaj who in the music video for her song Anaconda, was almost naked and about ninety percent of the song is making sexual references. It certainly is different from olden times because back then a lady was criticized for performing if she was above the age of 18.The images matter because all the young kids are very impressionable and they want to be like their favorite artists which can influence them in the wrong way.

This was the cover for the song "Anaconda" by Nicki Minaj. This cover for the Album does represent what the song is about. While i personally do not like the song due to the beat, I feel like this song interprets that women are just good for one thing or are good cause of one thing, that thing being their body. I feel like this song is only popular because of the video because the lyrics were not good.

Rap mainly gives the image of women as being easy or getting around. There is a famous line by Future which says "I just fucked your bitch in some Gucci flip flops". This line makes women seem like they can not be loyal and gives them a bad image.

I believe that work should be the reason for a salary. The more effort someone puts into their craft should represent the size of their check. According to this article, the pay gap between male and female artists has increased to 49% which represents the way an industry is because the major labels tend to sign more guys than women.
http://www.nme.com/news/music/gender-pay-gap-music-2281568

This song was a big hit recently and was the reason Cardi B has risen to the top of the music charts. The lyrics do not necessarily give women a good image or represent them in a positive way. There is a lyrics which says "Fuck him then I get some money", which kinda promotes prostitution and is not a line which girls should be singing, but the they are and this is the type of image that girls feel it is okay.
