Following traditions is good but as we grow up things will have to change and being completely against that is going to make the process very difficult.

Yeah, traditions are great to some extent. However, some traditions might need to be canceled or maybe just updated and changed a little? If there is something better there is no law that you can't stop your old tradition for something new. It's your life so you should be able to decide what traditions you want to have.
