         <description><![CDATA[<div>I created this daily check-in for my class as an alternative to the school wide check in.&nbsp; Each day when students log into their Chromebook, a daily check in pops up to complete with questions related to temperature and symptoms of COVID. This was not appropriate for my students so I created a modified version. The students select the date from the calendar, record their temperature, check off their name, make a choice related to the national day of the month and have a social emotional learning check in. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>In the beginning, I used only the student names, but then put pictures with the names for easier identification.&nbsp; Then as students learned names with pictures, I took the pictures away to teach name recognition only. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>For the choice of the day (which aligns with IEP goals - making a choice), I started with selections to get to know the students - what do you like? - and moved to aligning it with content for our afternoon meeting -National Day of the Month- to improve questioning skills.</div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This is an assessment that I created for my students who participate in a general education elective course on the Career Clusters. There are 16 questions - 1 for  each cluster with a picture reference and 3 options.  The goal was for students to associate specific jobs with a career cluster.  The students had the test questions and responses read aloud per their IEP accommodations and selected their choices.  The results showed a lack of understanding.  I am not sure if the pictures confused them, the choices of jobs were unfamiliar or the fact that it was their second assessment of the day contributed to the poor scores.  I revisited the assessment and made changes for a second opportunity.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>On this assessment, I wrote out questions instead of just listing the clusters. I also changed some of the pictures so they were more familiar to the students.  It was again read aloud to the students, but this time the picture was given attention - students were asked to identify  what was happening in the picture and then given the choices. This helped them make the connection between the cluster name and jobs.  The scores were greatly improved.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Quizizz is a great way to assess, review, or check for understanding.  Quizzes can be created using prepopulated questions or you can create your own.  You have the ability to select how many choices and if you have the upgrade you are able to add audio to the file.  It can be used synchronously or asynchronously.  The results are easy to read and break it down by student and question.</div>]]></description>
