Tabitha has finished the background - i tried to help and always tried to input some advise but she didn't ask for much but she got on with the work well. i have begun creating scene 1 but i have had many problems. i have learnt that when using after effects and then final cut you must have the original background and the scene needs because otherwise it wont work in final cut. i then had bingo move form one side to the other and moving his legs and this worked well. i did have to do some quick repair to the picture because the original had the legs attached to each other and this meant he couldn't move them independently, i went back to Photoshop and used the eraser carefully to make a gap between each pair of legs. i later tried to add a map to drift form the other side of the page to meet bingo in the middle. i figured out how to make it rotate and then made the edges move as thought it was being blown in the wind, i made pins in the corners and individually moved them as it went across the screen, it took a while and looked a bit silly at points but then in the end worked really well. then i discovered a major problem. i had been saving the scene when i thought it was done but had to make changes later to it - i saved it the way Dave showed us last week but when i tried to put the last clip on my memory stick it wouldn't - the file was too big. Tabitha recorded her voice first and then when she was done she left and dint stay to record the sound effects.i recorded the sound effect with Kirsten and everything went well. when i came back i saw Tabitha had started on a random scene we hadn't talked about and we had already agreed that we wouldn't start animating a scene without recording audio. ]]> 2017-02-24 09:16:06 UTC https://padlet.com/chloe_13a/1oprw0vchyp5/wish/155974898 chloe_13a https://padlet.com/chloe_13a/1oprw0vchyp5/wish/156015056 Today i gave in early so i could meet with an actor I had arranged to meet with. she is practising to be an actor and at the moment it is reading an old script in an old fashion voice which is perfect for this project. when we met up we went to find Dave and we took out a clip on mic as it is much easier to use and i have used it for interviews and i thought this would be best. we practised the script a few times and then did a couple of recordings. i then downloaded it onto my computer but when i listened back the background noise was awful and made the clips unusable. then we decided to use a boom mic. Leila booked it out for us and when I set it up there was no sound coming through, i thought it was the boom mic as i could here static from the TASCAM, i asked Leila if it needed a battery but she didn't know and one of my class mates said that it didn't. instead i decided to use my phone to record it and it went OK but then Dave came in and i asked him what he thought might be wrong and he said that it was because there was no battery in the boom mic. once we fixed this it worked well, then when we started recording again we perfected the actors voice so she stressed the correct parts but wasn't too forceful. then Dave came back and asked if we wanted the air con turned off and when he did it was much quieter and made the clip better quality. after this i put it on the macs and the sound quality was much better. Tabitha had completed the beginning track for the music and i put this with the woods scene - she recorded this on a guitar at home and not on garage band, it is nice and work well if we can get the music and the narration and the sound effects to all work together and not block the other out. scene 1 is pretty much finished and scene two is almost but i need some help from Dave. i still need to create the Sydney scene, the final woods and the map in between but Dave said he would learn how to make dots appear on the map as throughout it could tract Bingo's journey. ]]> 2017-03-02 09:20:42 UTC https://padlet.com/chloe_13a/1oprw0vchyp5/wish/157258995 chloe_13a https://padlet.com/chloe_13a/1oprw0vchyp5/wish/157554998 Today i started off by cutting and organising the audio i have for scene three and this went well and was done soon. after break dave came over to show me how to do a certain type of ahi,at ion that i wanted and that i had told him about on friday. so we started by getting Bingo in the London scene to walk like the Bingo in the woods scene, this was easier than dave had thought it would be because instead we could simply copy the woods bingo over to the London scene and put in the same positions numbers and scales to make it work and copy the keyframes from one to the other. then i finished the audio on this scene because i realised we had skipped the paris scene but that was still on the audio so i removed this and but in the clip of traveling to Sydney at the end. i also made the map go to Australia instead of France. i then tried to render and export the clip but it kept telling me that after effects was not re[ponding and i had to close the program but i hadn't been able to save the work i had done and so had to do it all over again. fortunately before i ddi all of it i saw that my computer was auto saving the work i was doing so i found a folder on my desktop with saved files and found that the 3rd save was all the work i thought i had lost, this saved me from doing a lot of extra work and i realised that the map has still needed work so that it moved off the screen, so it turned out better. then i put the clip onto premier pro to add the sound effects of traffic, this was tricky to get it in the right places and to get slightly quieter and less busy traffic sound in between these clips but it was ok then i had to get the sound level right so it could be heard clearly but not block out the narration, then i added the music that Tabitha had created for this scene which was using string instrument on garageband, this also was difficult because i had to make sure it wasn't too loud and blocked out the sound effects or the narration but wasn't too quite and could be heard.i thought i had gotten it right but after exporting it i listened back to it on the headphones and it sounded good but when played throughout the mac i couldn't really hear it so I'm not sure if i should leave it or try to change it. ]]> 2017-03-03 09:10:52 UTC https://padlet.com/chloe_13a/1oprw0vchyp5/wish/157554998 chloe_13a https://padlet.com/chloe_13a/1oprw0vchyp5/wish/158590012 Today i have looked back at the audio form yesterday and i think the problem is the mac computers speaker that are not good and not the audio itself. then i started the animate for scene 3. this was difficult because the scene is of bingo walking in - i used the same walking techniques i did in the last scene by copying the walk of the first scene and this went well and works nicely - and Kyla the kangaroo jumping gin and meeting bingo. this was difficult because i need the kangaroo to look real in its movements when jumping and falling and this took many, many attempts to get it right in time with the jump as well. then after the talking i needed kayla to jump twice to leave the scene with the actions, this took a lot of trail and error and starting over. in the end i did it by planning the jump and marking the positions, then copying the puppet movement kayla made when she endeared the scene and then timing and cutting the movement to fit the on scene action. as this jump was the same length but happened much quicker i cut the middle part of the jumps and mostly just have the puppet movement of her jumping and falling. this looks nice in the end and i am happy with it. the i exported the clip and put it onto premier pro to add the music and sound effects. the sound effects for this scene were the sound of the "ocean" we tried to record water noises in college but it sounded a bit pathetic, luckily when i got home yesterday my mum had been painting and was washing off the brushes in the bath and the flow of the large taps was much closer to what i wanted so i recorded it on my phone. today i could them import the sounds and use them for the sound effects and the results are much better. then o added the music that Tabitha made i was a little disappointed with it as i don't this it sound very Australian -i would have loved to have had a didgeridoo or something similar sounding - but Tabitha still did a good job with the equipment that she had available to her. the end result for this clip is very good and i am happy with how this scene has turned out. i then started the final scene when bingo goes home, and one of the things that i tried was to get bingo to look directly and the audience and then sit down - i had the pictures to do this but i didn't like the way it suddenly did this, when i asked dave what he thought he said he knew there was a techniques that could do it but he didn't know what it was so i took a look on youtube for a video and found one, it was good but i had some problems as when i tried to create a mask the video had only one and i would have two - so i had so scrap this idea and stick the the original, i wasn't happy with this but i don't have a choice.o went onto after effects and finished the animation for scene 4 and this went very smoothly with no problems. i then had to moved computers as a class needed the ones we were on but luckily i only needed premier pro which the other macs do have.i added the music and sound effects to this scene easily but i was worried because when i watched the clip back it was really jumpy and looked bad quality. fortunately after i rendered it and exported it it still looked great so it was just the programme not being able to cope. i then started to put all the clips together including the map scene that Tabitha completed and had emailed me. it was a little difficult because the programme had to render it after i put the clip on one by one but it got it done and i could watch it back and it would look smoother so it was easier to edit. one thing i had to fix was Tabitha's line -
