In the map above we show the main areas- of the city where factories are located: Apodaca, García, Escobedo, and near the International Airport. We’re planning to install from 2 to 4 Smog-Free Towers in each zone. The average contamination of 2016 was 86PM10 and 36PM2.5 and by our estimates of a 55% decrease on each of them we’re expecting 38PM10 and 16PM2.5, values that range more closely to the ones established and accepted by the World Health Organization which are 20PM10 and 10PM2.5

The lack of government regulations on the exhaust gases factories release due to the manufacturing of their products during the last couple decades. In recent years the government finally decided to close down all of the pedreras around the metropolitan area, in the last decade this has been one of the major causes of air pollution because of the rock dust is released by the process of cutting the mountains to produce concrete, construction blocks, granite, and marble. The most recent problem we’re facing is the huge amount of cars that live in the city, from the year 2015 to 2016 the amount of cars almost doubled down, causing huge traffic problems and even more exhaust gases released into the air we breath every day. All of these problems have caused the situation we’re facing right now, and it’s really concerning for all of us that live on this city that in the month of December of 2016, we only had two clean-air days, which is unacceptable.
