This website, ontariotenants.ca, points out the responsibilities of a landlord in the Ontario Residential Tenancies Act. This includes things such as 'Landlord not to interfere with reasonable enjoyment,' 'Entry without notice,' 'Landlord's responsibility to repair,' etc. These are the legal guidelines that a landlord must comply with, and if they do not, they can be punished with legal ramifications. These can include the landlord paying a specified sum to the tenant, ordering rent abatement, terminating the tenancy, etc.

This video is filmed by the tenant, who shows multiple different reasons why the house is an unsafe environment. There are numerous cracks throughout the house due to the foundation sinking, which causes the risk of a collapse. There is also black mold throughout different locations in the house that the tenant is dealing with because the landlord will not fix the problem. The landlord also stores his belongings at the leased property and has been doing so for multiple years despite saying he would clear them out.

In Ontario, it is the landlord's responsibility to keep up to date with the rent increase guidelines and make sure that they stay within the law while increasing a tenant's rent.
Landlord Illegally Entering Property

This video supposedly showcases a landlord illegally entering a property without a 24-hour notice. This action breaks the Landlords responsibilities, as they have entered without warning. Before entering a property, a landlord must give at least a 24-hour notice. A landlord cannot enter a property without reason, either. In Ontario, it must be to carry out a repair or replacement, allow a potential mortgagee or insurer to view the unit, for a certified individual to make an inspection, or any other reasonable reason for entry that is specified in the tenancy agreement.
