On the day of arrival, my family and I went home, where I was fed tomato paste with dumplings. It is considered partly national cuisine. After that, Klara(my exchange partner), I and several other exchange couples went to the shopping mal. There we explored some stores that were unusual for us, because we donot have them in Latvia. The day was long as everyone was tired, so we headed home.

On the second day we visited the school. We were shown the differences between schools in Latvia and the Czech Republic and had an entertainment program. We also tried a variety of food in the school canteen. After half a day spent at school, we went to the Podolí Prague Waterworks Museum, where we were told how water filtration stations work, as well as how water is filtered in the Czech Republic. After that, the whole group went for a walk in Vyšehrad, it was very beautiful there,, the view was amazing, and after that we went home.

We immediately went to the zoo! There i have tried a famous Trdelník, it was the best thing i have tried! It was very cool there, as there were so many different types of animals. The zoo provide excellent support for their condition and living there! It was very interesting to watch. Also during the day we performed various tasks related to the zoo. After the zoo we went for a walk on the Charles Bridge. It was incredibly beautiful there. All the statues were incredible. After a short tour of the bridge, me, Karla and two of our friends went to eat and then watch a volleyball game. The atmosphere there was breathtaking! And after the game we went home.

Early in the morning we went to the National Museum of Agriculture, it was very interesting there, they told us how to properly sort garbage, told us about the differences between garbage containers in the Czech Republic and Latvia, and also talked about how long various household items can take to decompose! We also learned about what happens to garbage during recycling, it was very gripping! In the afternoon we went to the shopping center, where I personally was able to buy the famous Czech Oplatky! This shopping center is also considered one of the most eco-friendly due to the large number of attributes for recycling waste and maintaining a stable environmental condition.

On Friday morning we walked along the historical streets of Prague, looking for various information about historically important places. We visited St. Vitus Cathedral, it was simply magnificent! We walked in groups of 4 people and completed tasks given to us by the teachers so that we could visit as many interesting places in the center as possible. At the end of our meeting, Klara and I went home to rest and look forward to the weekend!

On Saturday we had a free program. At first I was in a group of 5 people, but then several more joined us. With this company we toured equally interesting places in Prague. The highlight was that we went to a cafe where we were able to try another fairly common sweet in the Czech Republic, fruit dumplings, it was very unusual, but I liked it! At the end of the day we just walked around the center of Prague.

On the last day, all of our exchange students took us to laser games so we could enjoy our last day all together. It was very funny! At lunch time, Klara and I went with her family to a restaurant, where they fed me the most famous Czech dish - Svíčková. and after that also the Czech dessert - Větrník. It was very tasty, but a bit too much for me! After that we went to the bowling as we were having our final party there. I really enjoyed spending time with the Czech friends and playing on the same team with them, it was a lot of fun!

On the day of departure, we got to the airport together, and there we were forced to say goodbye. It was very sad, but we will still meet in half a year, so we didn’t feel so bad! I really liked and remembered this trip, I am very glad that I was able to take part in this Erasmus+ project and see a new country and learn more about the mentality, people, traditions and history of the Czech Republic!
