Pollock art is more abstract than Helen's, and Helen used much more colors, and it normally created a certain image. Helen's art is similar to Pollock's, because it is abstract. The main difference is how there is many different colors, and the different marks sometimes make a big picture. Pollock's reason behind his paintings, and Helen's reasons are very similar. Both are trying to convey their emotions in an abstract way and with an abstract piece, except Pollock was an alcoholic so his methods are rougher, whereas Helen is a psychiatrist. She wanted the paintings to be more visually pleasing, enough that she believed that they could heal.
