Model to students how backward planning is done and how it is the guide for our lessons. The intended outcome would allow students to understand how each lesson is linked to the embedded assessment. It will help answer the question that students always ask "why are we learning this?"

Focus item: Vocabulary.

Action Steps: Continue reviewing target reports and action-planning as grade-level teams, integrating SBA IAB practice into our curricular work, internal and facilitated learning walks focused on identified needs in SpringBoard observables, continued cycles of CFA data analysis, and increased PD to support the learning of the team.

We are going to give the observable survey to our whole department. Half of our staff wasn't there in August. Have discussions with the department to see where support is needed.

Action steps: GKHS will focus on this to see all teachers more intentionally using peer talk structures in more classrooms.
