The Electoral College is a not a place, but a process/procedure. This process was created by the founding fathers when they were outlining how American should be ran today. The electoral college consists of 538 electors. Even though your vote matters, your votes aren't even used to see who becomes the president. The electoral college will vote and then the president will be elected based off of the number of votes they collected. The Electors are usually chosen depending on the candidates political party. This meeting takes place on the first Monday after the second Wednesday in December after the presidential election. They meet in their states and they "Cast" their votes for a president and vice president. Each states electoral votes are counted on the 6th of January in the year following the meeting with the electors.

Tyler Clough

The Electoral College needed a majority of 270/538 electoral votes when electing a president. The Electoral College was written in the U.S. Constitution. They are pretty much brought together every 4 years just to elect the U.S President and Vice President. This is a representation of the people's vote because votes are taken from each state. Each state gets a specific number of Electoral votes based on their population. One reason the Electoral College was created because the leaders feared a tyrant would come and get everyone's opinion and persuade them.
- Jordan Philo
