<title>One of the takeaways that I have from these readings is that it is important to remember the &quot;why&quot; behind entering a helping profession. This reminds us that the ultimate goal is to help others, and we cannot do that if we are not practicing self-care. </title>

<title>Sometimes as counselors we get caught up in the day-to-day activities that we do not always prioritize our own self-care, but self-care is important to the people we are trying to help. If we are not a healthy version of ourselves, then helping others achieve wellness is difficult. </title>

<title>Spending time with my family is one of the most important parts of my self-care routine. Sharing a meal, playing games, watching movies, or just hanging out with one another is always a great time filled with lots of laughter and love. I also find that staying spiritually healthy is vital as well. I do this by making sure that I attend church regularly, read my Bible, and pray/meditate on a daily basis. </title>
