When reading about this I thought of all the lessons last year where I tried to bring the culture we were studying into the classroom for more authentic learning. This app fit right in with what I had been searching for last year! Around the holidays I had a lesson at Ramsey where we explored different holiday traditions. The Dickens Christmas Expedition is perfect and a great “hook” into the lesson!

I chose to learn more about sketchnoting. For this activity I found the online website https://sketch.io/sketchpad/. This website allowed me to add text, use clip art, and draw using many different tools. I could also save it to my sketchbook or export it by downloading it or sharing it with others. This website was free to use and I found it to be very user friendly. I would use this resource during my social skills lessons. The example I included below is how students could depict expected vs. unexpected behaviors.

Using the website, https://100wc.net/ I can use writing prompts to help my students do a short writing exercise each week. A couple that I have read and liked:
You need to use the sentences., "and then the Elephant delivered his speech.."
You need to use the following words: "gold, ancient, discovered, lost,"

I think these are good guides to help students start a story.
