Voting is one of the few ways I feel I can make my voice heard and help build collective power for the Muslim community.

The crisis in Gaza, insulin prices, U.S. relations with China and North Korea, TSA reform, Amtrak safety, student loan forgiveness, and climate change policy are all important to me.

This election will determine whether my younger brothers feel safe at their public school, whether my older brother can find a job after graduation, and whether my aunt can afford childcare. It will also affect whether women have agency over their bodies and determine whether my community can keep building power, fighting for our rights, and working toward a more just future.

I feel deep concern about this year’s elections. I fear I must anticipate violence to escalate regardless of who wins. However at the same time I feel a bit optimistic because I see how our communities come together during times of need.

I’m feeling anxious & disappointed about the federal election and fearful that the Democratic negligence toward our community will result in people not voting locally which I care about the most. Policy issues I care about are affordable housing, healthcare, and arms embargo on Israel. This election will definitely impact my local community because many seats up are up for election locally & federally regardless of outcome there will be social consequences and increased division that we have to anticipate

Very disappointed in the election this year, but it's critically important.

The discourse around Palestine and immigration has been very discouraging. I'm concerned even with a Democrat victory that our immigrant communities will still be marginalized.

This year, the most important political issues may include the economy, health care, climate change, and immigration. Issues such as social justice, education, and the national presidency may also take up unacceptable space for discussion. Depending on local capacity, the influences affect the nature of the elections and the issues raised, but in general, we have how resources are allocated, which continues to be related to the structure of the details, educational reforms, and health care.

I am concerned about the pressing issues that are not being discussed in the Biden Harris campaign such as:

Increased homelessness across the nation

Imminent climate emergency

So much money being siphoned to Israel from our taxpayers that could be used for our schools/failing schools

Again the amount of money being siphoned to Israel that could have been allocated towards reparations and sustainable social housing

The generalization of the siege in Gaza to Lebanon

I feel a simultaneous despondency and hopefulness. I'm disgusted and horrified at the mainstream choices and invigorated by the possibilities of the independent candidates and finding a third party as a serious contender this time and/or next time around. Of course we want the terrorism & genocides abroad to end but I want the terrorism and slow genocide of my people here as well to end here as well. I want the horrors that we have endured and are enduring acknowledged and given voice. REPARATIONS NOW! I also want to stop hearing "Arab & Muslim". We are all Muslim and one ummah and we all experience the same discriminations based on our representation of Islam. Im deeply troubled by Muslims who cast their allegiances with known evil of any size. I pray we will all come to believe Allah and have faith in Allah over men and their machinations and trust that that collective faith and actions in alignment with it and the way of Allah is how we build power.

Very disenchanted by the state of US/federal politics since Oct 7th, if not slightly before. Issues of priority to me include higher education, healthcare (incl. mental, senior & disability care), transportation/public transit, campaign finance and election/govt ethics reform, and economic development. This election specifically may have negative effects for where I live due to a growing Muslim & immigrant population that is at risk of being increasingly discriminated against and ostracized for supporting Palestine. My Congressmember, a Democrat, has taken <$400k from AIPAC this election cycle & my Council district is currently represented by a Republican with hardly dissimilar views.
