First of all, HAPPY ST GEORGE'S DAY!
I thought it might be interesting to use this app to keep in touch in a different way. So, here is my proposal: As you probably know, today is also International Book Day and I was wondering whether you would like to celebrate the date by creating your own stories as we can't go out and buy any books. In a nutshell, the idea is that each of you becomes a writer and a reader. What do you have to do? Well, simply post your story on this wall so the rest of your colleagues can read it, leave their opinions or vote. In turn each of you can vote other stories as well.
Now, to make things easier, I suggest that you all use the same sentence (see below) as the first line of your composition, but it's up to you, you are free to start with a different one.

Story:
"TIM BARNES THOUGHT HIS HOME WAS THE SAFEST PLACE ON EARTH, UNTIL ONE DAY..."

A shadow inside

"Tim Barnes thought his home was the safest place on earth, until one day he discovered the harsh reality. That morning, he woke up under the weather and he believed that he had a strong hangover because of the beers he drank last night. There was nothing in the air that presage his world will crumble in a few hours.

After a revitalizing shower, he smiled at the mirror and he got scared of his reflection. His skin had become like a cracked grey stone and his eyes were empty. He just saw a black well without water. He tried to phone the doctor, but the line was dead. «This is a dream», he said aloud.

He ran around the house, waiting that moment when the brain finished the nightmare. Nothing, only silence. He didn’t hear any noise outside and the windows were closed and locked. He was a bird in a gloomy cage, a sick person in a quarantine. He didn’t understand why he couldn’t leave.

Then, he felt a tiny fleck of darkness inside —it wasn’t the first time— and he remembered all the bad things he did in his whole life. The betrayal to his brother, the abandonment to his father; but that girl… That had been the culmination of his evilness.

Police didn’t find any clues and Tim Barnes didn’t own up, but no one can escape their past for long. He thought his home, far far away from the crime scene, would be the safest place; nevertheless, when he encountered the same girl in the corridor, he realized that he wasn’t dreaming. «It’s not possible», he whispered.

A ghost cannot rest in peace until its tasks are finished in the world of the living. Tim screamed and begged for his life, he didn’t want to be punished, but that was a revenge”.

Alejandro Salas Ferreira

TIM BARNES THOUGHT HIS HOME WAS THE SAFEST PLACE ON EARTH, UNTIL ONE DAY... He heard a weird noise from the loft. He felt an awful shiver walking around his body: 'oh, no'-he thought- 'what will happening there?' Although, he was a bit frightened, he decided to went up. When he was closer to the loft door, he listened again the same noise, but now, it was really loud. When the calm came again, he got in. 'I am very brave'- he though proudly. He saw everything was so messy. Suddenly, an old lamp started to float mysteriously and then, it crashed on the floor. As a result, Tim run so faster to his room and he hid under his sheets bed. 'I feel that my home is haunted'- he thought- 'tomorrow I wil call to my friend Jerry, who is a brilliant medium! Maybe, he could help me!'

The next morning, he was calling to Jerry when someone knocked on the door. 'Who is?' -he said. 'I am here!' - said Jerry while I was opening the door. 'Oh! I want to talk with you!' -Tim said stunned. 'Yes, I know'- replied Jerry- 'I sense you got into trouble'. So, Tim told everything about the last night and they moved towards the loft. 'Are you ready to look it?' -asked Tim. 'Sure!'- answered Jerry. When Tim was opening the door, he felt chills again. A strange something come to him...'Help me!! Help me, please!!'-he shouted. Suddenly, he awoke. He was lying on his bed. So he though that afortunately it had been a scary nightmare.

Isabel Suárez

“MAN’S SEARCH FOR MEANING” by Dr Victor Frankl

Dr Victor Frankl, psychiatrist and speech therapist, offers an unusual and personal point of view of life in concentration camps during the II World War.

He had to choose between escaping with his wife from horror and staying with his parents, who were about to be taken to a concentration camp. He decided the latter.

From here on, the author studies the human behaviour, how people manage to remain sane despite the horror they are suffering from. He also offers very interesting contributions to the Clinic psychology field by showing us his way of working in detail.

I strongly recommend this book to those who love history told in first person, to psychologists and to everybody in general.

It is amazing how honestly Dr Frankl states that being a survivor does not mean being a good person. Actually, hard conditions make us lose our moral in order to survive.

It is not only a story about holocaust but also a story about hope and learning, which is very suitable for the current days we are living now. It is an injection of positive energy!
