The peculiar Institution was a period where slavery was barely about to end in a way that no one thought was possible, or during this period would be even a option. Slavery couldn't work with the controversy, then during 1735 to 1750 Georgia banned slavery, and the other 12 colonies still had slavery. Soon all of the south was slavery free, it was different everywhere since it soon started as a debate.

The compromise of 1850 was the start of the civil war by having slavery fully free, except in the south. In the south if there was slaves that escaped they would have to be sent back and still be in slavery but the owners wouldn't be able to get new slaves. This brought up s a polarization for the centrist citizens.
