The Reverends daughter Briony, a 17 year old girl who is a witch. She meets her new study partner Eldric, Her sister Rose who has a disabililty loses her temper and runs out of the home. leaving Eldric an Briony to go find her, once they do she is surrounded by witches. She wants to tell the witches she is one of them an to leave Rose alone but fails to do so, Once they get rose home the reverend sends Briony,Eldric an Mr Dreary out to go find the witches but Briony refuses to go as she sees death on Mr Dreary's shoulder. After a bit of arguing she goes an attempts to save Mr Dreary's life but fails to do so causing him to die a horrible death, As the story goes on they find nothing but manage to find someone to trial for witch craft "Nelly" a redhead lady they assume to be a witch they trial her only for it to come back false she was no witch an was hung without reason. As time goes on Briony thinks Rose has the swamp cough an tries to reverse it but ends up giving it to her sister in the raft of trying to get rid of it, she makes a deal with the old one that gave Rose the swamp cough and attempts to do what was promised, October 31st comes the day of her exposing her self, she pulls the children from the dead an they tell their stories Briony gets called a witch an has to go to trial. She wins the issue and learns shes not a witch but a chime child. (she can see "old ones" an bring the deads spirits back)

A ginger boy, 6'4(?) reminds me of my friend Jacoby. he is very sweet and pale, he fidgets a lot an makes really cool things and I'd say he is really special in the book.
