Existing schools were pressured to teach their curriculum in Japanese, and students were made to sing the Japanese national anthem. However, there was a lack of Japanese teachers and textbooks, and the Japanese were forced to allow a combination of the Japanese and English languages until the arrival of the first Japanese textbook in Singapore. I was a victim myself. There was no specific cure then. The

course of the disease was a long and hectic one, of six to eight weeks of fever and loss of flesh... The greatest danger is from haemorrhage (30 percent of cases) and perforation with fatal general peritonitis (30 percent

of cases) in the hospital record,
with an overall mortality rate of 40 percent. Surgery of these peritonitis cases did not help.
Source no.2:
https://theknowledgecafeteria.wordpress.com/2012/09/15/post-war-problems/
INFERENCE 2:
Source tells me that housing became a major problem during the japanese occupation.
EVIDENCE 2:
ousing had also become a major problem as majority of the people were unable to get a roof above their head. When the Japanese moved slaves to Singapore from Indonesia, there was a great boost in population. Furthermore, the housing available was reduced as the Japanese bombed and shelled residential areas. Rebuilding of these houses was also very slow, thus there was a very small residential capacity, far from was sufficient to support the huge population then. The shortage of housing led to high rents and many people started to crowd into one apartment while others simply built squatters or lived in the streets

Summary
source 1 "Tells me that during the Japanese occupation, after the raid and the Attack on Singapore had caused injuries to teenagers and mad them lose their homes as a matter of fact most people including teenagers became homeless as their homes were destroyed throughout bombing . Dead bodies were lying around which had diseases level were high which caused wounded people to have their flesh peeled off and getting infected. Thus Not
having a roof to live under teenagers had to cramp in rooms to sleep or sleep roofless which had caused them to get sick easily.
Source 2 tells me that during JO students whom were studying in schools had to change their education to a combination of Japanese and English as the Japanese were short handed of textbooks to learn the students learn better.some students were even forced to change schools and go to Japanese schools . All students were taught to learn the Japanese national anthem and were to sing it every morning as a routine.
Source 3 tells me that during JO food prices went up from about 3 cents to a $100. And teenagers had to queue up for hours to wait for their food and their food depended on the rations the person wanted to gave.
Source 4 tells me that during jo,Teenagers had a poor diet as they didn't have much nutrients to have and were having insufficient meals. Survey meals were taken and each religion had a suited diet food that was set.
Source 5 tells me that during jo, teenager couldn't afford their nessacities and food prices rised up and teenagers could not buy food.
