The website I used has the full story and I was able to highlight vocabulary words, write notes to the students, and ask questions at key moments throughout the reading. I was also able to include a live action version of the story for learners who struggle with independent reading. This can include informational slides, assessments, open-ended questions, and activities--all within the format of a slide-based lesson. For example, when reading a new text, students might be assigned a nearpod lesson which corresponds with the reading. Each page they turn, they will also turn to the next slide which might have information (like key vocabulary words) or questions (like "make a prediction about what will happen in the story"). Each slide in the lesson provides a unique opportunity for the teacher to focus on a literacy strategy while the students read.
