But once Christopher left Jim tells himself he should contact the police to let them know about Chris but doesn't because Chris will get hungry at one point

Analysis- I really admire how Christopher Johnson 
McCandless mindset on life. Just leave everything behind and go somewhere you've never been before. I wonder if someone today would be the next Christopher Johnson

Hunters Thompson, Samel and Swanson are driving motor vehicles they drive into a river they're hundred yards beyond the trail "disappeared" pg 12 but they finally arrived at a bus they were spooked to find what's inside. There lies Chris McCandless body and a note. None of them had room to fit Chris into their vehicles. Until Killian a coal miner arrived on his ATV he called "emergency" pg 13 onto his radio.

Analysis- It's very sad to think that Chris was found in the bus dead. if you really think how Chris was feeling in those last 5 minutes of life just being cold and starving himself to death. And for people to find him and no one knows who he was is just sad.

His parents decided him to buy Chris a new car but he said I don't need car I have the Datson. His parents "misread" as his father admits. In his final years in Atlanta all his parents "received" pg 22 was his grades in the mail. 

Analysis- Everyone has family problems but I think Chris just wanted to get away from his life style being in a rich family wasn't what he wanted. And I know what he sent to his parents his grades and a little note saying how school went for him is bad but they can't stop him from being himself.

Analysis- I like the fact that Chris traveled on foot for most of his journey or hitchhiked every place he went. Too bad he lost his Datsun in the process. If I was Chris I would've called my parents I'm coming home.

Analysis-I'm kind of surprised that McCandless worked at McDonalds I thought he wanted to live off the the earth he doesn't need money to survive. But using his actual Social Security number to apply. I like how chris doesn't like to stay in one place he doesn't like to build relationships in one place likes to be known but never commits

Analysis- This chapter is just so hard to read because you have this 80 year old guy he's lived the best and worst life ever. Both his wife and son die on the same day. He gets into drinking but he got himself together and decided to adopt kids and help them out. Then Alex comes into his life and Ron really wants to help be his father. And all Alex says is go live life like me Ron. Then once Ron found out Chris had died he gets back into drinking it's too much for this guy.

Analysis-It amazes how many lives Alex has changed by being around but ends up ending those relationships because his purpose is to go to Alaska to go and see nature and finally be alone. It makes me question Alex more.

Analysis- I understand why Krakauer would want this story into the wild. All these people wanted to do something wasn't normal. They forgot about the life they live earlier in life to pursue this journey of happiness of being in the wild.

analysis- Everett Ruess gave up his high school education and college education just to go out in the wild to explore. I mean I get it go out forget everything that was causing you stress but Chris and Everett go to the extreme and never come back some people come back and live the rest of their lives.

Analysis- State Troopers really went through all of this trouble to find out whose body this was. We knew who it was but back then they didn't have very much technology they just used the phone books and radios to find out who Chris was. They ended finding out who Chris was. But now it's time for Chris parents to know that he's dead

Analysis- I think both of Chris's parents are terrible. For his father to start a family then leave them to start another family with Billie then leave to have another baby with Marcia leaving her again to have a baby with Billie again. It makes no sense and all of this is happening on other sides of town and for Chris to find this out makes it worst for him to look up to his father.

Sam Walts oldest son had called work . Next day Carine and Sam flew to Fairbanks to bring home Chris's "remains" pg 131. Once they landed back in Anchorage Carine and Billie had stopped eating. Billie would look at photographs and break down, "weeping" pg 132 for her son. 

Analysis-This chapter is really short but it really talked about Carine expressed her feelings when her brother has passed. You could tell she loved her brother a lot. And for her and her mother to stop eating and her father gaining weight. To find out someone has died is just so hard.

The climb was over the only place to go was down.

Analysis- I just think it's crazy that the author of Into the Wild is so similar to Chris McCandless. And I see why he would put his own story into his book. It let us know that there is a lot more people like Chris that go into the wild for adventure.

Jon decided to climb the devil thumb again but He stayed in his camp he realized he only had one "cigarette" pg 151. Forty five above Jon Krakauer  the wall eased back onto the sloping "summit" pg 153 shoulder. Jon straddled the highest point, the south face fell away beneath. The fact that Jon Krakauer "survived" pg 155 his Alaska adventure and McCandless did not survive was his largely a matter of chance. 

Analysis- I wonder if Jon Krakauer or anyone on there Alaskan Adventure ever thought they were going to die on that trip. Too bad Chris McCandless never got to live to see how the world is now or lived to tell his own personal stories out in the wild or how it felt to be in that bus.

The only food McCandless brought was a ten pound bag of rice, two sandwiches, and corn chips. He confident that he had enough food to stay in the "Alaska" pg 162 wilderness. Chris kept a journal during his first week in the wilderness it was a "disaster" pg 164. Couldn't shoot a bear, ducks, killed a spruce goose. While "hunting"pg 166 he got May 28 gourmet duck june 1 5 squirrels june 2 porcupine and the list goes on. But the prize was moose he recorded it in his journal. When McCandless wanted to come back from the wild. The rivers were to high for him to swim he was also a "weak" pg 170 swimmer he was afraid of the water. 

Analysis- I like how the only thing that stopped him from coming back from the wilderness was a river. I would've thought he died from a bear or wolves. But no he lost his life freezing to death in a bus. He would've stayed alive longer if he saved a lot more of that moose meat but he didn't know how to.

Analysis- The only thing I took away from Chris in the wild is that he wasn't really prepared like the right clothing or rifle. It seemed like he just wanted to go into the wild and do it his way. It costed him his life because he wanted to come back and maybe if he had a map he could've came back and still be alive.

Many Alaskans wonder why Chris didn't just start a forest fire to alert but Chris couldn't do such a thing. He was into nature why would he hurt it. Analysis- I think Chris McCandless has a story that could relate to everyone some body might hate or love him. But we have to admit he lived his life the way he wanted to made some new friends and it didn't change him. but I think he could still be alive to this day if he had a map or went across the Teklanika River but he didn't he just went back to the bus to die.

Analysis- This chapter was a little sad. What Walt and Billie had to go through going into the bus that those feeling. I'm just glad Billie felt calm and centered but I don't know about Walt. I feel like he doesn't know how to feel he just lost his son with Billie.

After some years the author can't figure out how he died almost 23 years later he "circled  P3" from Chris's Dairy. Chris was extremely weak  from potato seeds says Krakauer  and maybe the seeds had "killed P4" Chris McCandless. In September 2013 Krakauer closed the case  results from the lab there was compound called beta-ODAP caused Chris weakening and paralysis. The compound screws up your ability to metabolize basically you "starve P10". There was a paper in 1960 had found the same "toxin P14" in a few species of the plants in other areas in Alaska. 


Analysis- I'm pretty sure Krakauer is very much still looking for answers of how Chris McCandless died. I think Chris should've looked in his book about plants every time he ate certain plants but I get this mistake costed him his life but doesn't mean you could've been safe. But Chris lived his life and it ended it the most pain way.

When I was about 4 or 6 I would help around the stables cleaning out the stables with the horse still in there and I would feed them and give them food. All the adults would freak out and thought I was going to get hurt by the horse or the horse would run out of the stable and it would hurt me. But the horse was very calm when I was around. I used to ride horses and go to shows of horses dancing all around California. Also like to travel I've been to 5 states around and I would love to travel to all 50 states and to other countries. 


Like Chris McCandless I feel like he wasn't afraid of hard work. At a young age Chris's life was set up into the right path graduated high school and went to a four year college. But in life we also have those barriers that get into our way. Chris barrier was finding out his father had another family while still being with his mother. With me I haven't rode a horse since I was 7 years old and I don't have the money to fly around the world. Like when i'm a older I want to be living on a ranch with horses, pigs, cows, goats, and chickens. Teaching my kids how I started taking care of horses at a young age. I look forward to working my way of owning my own farm and the adventures I'll have along the way.

The main character Chris McCandless is just something else his life style and the way he acts as a person. you either love him or hate him but everyone could relate to him. The good thing about Chris is that he wanted to live his way he didn't want to do it his way even though he worked at MC Donald's. One of the world's most corporate places but while working at MC Donald's he was very social person around strangers. Everyone he meet in his adventures they ended up saying he was a good guy and would love to have him around. But as soon as people got close to Chris he would just run away like When he got close to Ron Franz. Ron Franz was a war veteran lost his wife and son on new years when a drunk driver killed them. Ron and Chris spent a few weeks together. Ron tells Chris to find a purpose in life but all Chris thinks about is going to Alaska to be in the wild. But before Chris leaves for his trip Ron ask him a question that could change his life. He asked Chris if he could adopt him. Chris ends up running away again! It just makes me want to cry because this old man put his whole heart out there for Chris to crush. But once Ron found out Chris had died he turn into a drunk again. But Chris still has a good story He travels the country without any money. Forgets his car and burns all his money and goes on his own hitch hiking into Alaska. Then into the wild to survive for 113 days.
