Exercising one’s rights can have these negative outcomes:
The people will push the limits of their freedom. For example, they may protest or defy whatever their government says. They may attack those of different values and beliefs. This is a problem if said people’s beliefs or values are not negative towards their freedom. Hence, we must practice consideration to others, and to what we have, in order for both to be and remain safe and protected.

There will be negatives outcomes such as attacks. For instance, if the police do not carry out their responsibilities, our country would not be safe. People would live in fear and people might migrate to another country. This would lead to economic losses as businesses would not come to Singapore.

When citizens do not carry out their responsibilities, the country will go haywire. Rules and laws were made to be followed thus if citizens weren’t responsible enough to follow those rules, there will be of no control as to what the country might be. For example, if Singapore did not make voting compulsory, youths nowadays/most people would not bother to vote. It is their responsibility as a citizen to vote. This will result in unfairness of who gets to lead the country or town.

There would definitely be negative impacts , this would come naturally because of the idea of wanting importants.Everyone wants to be praised or rewarded when they do something, most importantly they want their voices to be head and knowledge by the government. This is shown in the United stated of America(USA) when there is a mob of pro-trump supporters braking into the capital ,although it was eventually resolved this is a clear example that they want their voices to be heard. Thus it is very important to respect peoples believe and values.

There would be major consequences if citizens don’t exercise their rights responsibly. With freedom and rights comes the responsibility of following rules. Otherwise, people do whatever they want and things go out of control and into chaos because there are no boundaries set. An example of this is the pro-Trump protestors.A mob of Trump supporters decided to break into the Capitol to protest that Trump remains the president. This happened because the pro-Trump protestors tried taking advantage of their rights and broke the rules and hence this resulted in havoc. Thankfully, things like this don’t occur in Singapore. For as long as we follow the rules and boundaries set while practicing our rights, we will remain peaceful.

Being considerate for other beliefs would show that we have the basic respect for them. Not being considerate for others can also result in disagreements and quarrels between one another. And having rights would mean that we are enabled freedom of speech. However when these rights are misused then order in the country would then be messed up. For example, protests or riots might break out and if serious enough it would take a lot of effort to stop them. Even if stopped, there could still be casualties and deaths.

When people do not exercise consideration for the different beliefs and values, there would be a lot of chaos and people going out of control. People would commit crimes, litter, murders and even more. This would be because no one would be following the rules and laws as they are not considerate. For one example, in the US, right now, Truro supporters are breaking into the Capitol as they do not accept the fact that Trump lost the presidential election. This protest has caused 6 deaths so far. This is not safe for people. Thus, we should be considerate and be a responsible citizen.

When citizens do not carry out their responsibilities, many problems arise in the community. Firstly, one of the most important responsibilities of citizens is taking care of the environment. If they were to litter in public places, the whole environment would be dirty and harmed by the waste, polluting rivers and contaminating the water supply. Another responsibility citizens should carry out is contributing to political matters. For example, if citizens were to not spend time or give attention to voting for a political leader, they may end up giving the position away to a leader they might regret electing in the future.

As a cosmopolitan city, there are naturally many people of different religious beliefs and values. As people of Singapore, a simple way to show respect to other cultures is to be considerate towards them. It is true we all have the right to speak up about how different traditions may affect others, however, that is not the right thing to do morally. For example, Malay weddings are usually very loud especially when the “Kompangs” come in. This is when the people of Singapore can exercise consideration towards this traditional practice because if not, it would lead to tensions between the different races. This could then lead to casual racism or even riots like what has happened in the past. We have grown to be better than that, to accept each other and to tolerate the different practices for everyone to remain living in harmony.

Singapore is commonly labelled as having a multicultural society. This means that there are a myriad of people from different ethnical backgrounds, religious beliefs and different walks of lives. With this huge diversity of people present in Singapore, tensions are bound to arise one day or another. Discrimination and violations of social rights are an example of how tensions may arise. For example, the burning of Joss Paper during the seventh month in the Chinese calendar, or more commonly known as the Hungry Ghost Festival, is a common practice. A strong scent of burning paper would be released into the environment. Neighbours of a different racial background might be displeased with the smell produced and lodge a complain to the Town Council. This then creates tensions not only among the different races but also among neighbours. Another example is during Hari Raya when the Malays go for house visitings. This may last until late in the night and might potentially disturb the neighbours who might also complain. Hence f we are not considerate for the different beliefs and values, tensions might arise in the society.

Everyone wants to be respected especially to their beliefs and values. If one does not consider other culture, riots, arguments and disagreements may occur within the country. Having disagreements is also negative to the country. For example, if other country wants to work with singapore but they realised that singapore is having a tension with other people that having different beliefs and values. Then, they will think that singapore is not a good choice as a country would not want to work with another country that is not peaceful with each other. So it will impact badly on singapore.

As citizens of a country, we should all be responsible for the welfare of our fellow citizens. Despite not having certain rights that others may have, does not mean we have no responsibility for the well-being of our country. As we would try to show respect when conversing with our friends and family, we should also be considerate when exercising certain rights, example freedom of speech. If we do not respect others values and beliefs, we would merely be progressing backward as a society, bringing a negative name to our country. Such as some citizens of America using freedom of speech to justify racial slurs/racism, homophobia and sexism

Society to an extent is able to be understood as a community that rests on a foundation of balance. This balance is kept through fairness and rights, but any attempt to push and strain the limits of this balance will easily tear down the facade humans call a “peaceful society”. No matter what, conflict is a virus lurking inside the human race, and it will always eventually get out, no matter how major or minor the conflict is. This balance aims to delay and minimize the severity of any conflicts. However, humans are also greedy by nature, and yearn to have everything for themselves, which in this case is their ability to exercise their rights. Due to the different backgrounds of each and every individual, rights may not be evenly distributed, causing spite in many people. If those with leverage carelessly exercise their rights, this may lead to different levels of conflict, wether this be an argument between friends, riots on the streets or even major conflicts in extreme cases.
