Iranian immigration began around 40 years ago in 1979, the start of the Islamic revolution, and as a result the United states has become home to a huge population of Iranian immigrants. The first wave of Iranian immigration came in the 1950’s and was mostly students seeking a better education to keep up with the rapidly growing Iranian economy. In the late 1990’s and early 2000’s the number of Iranian immigrants increased. Although as immigration policies change it is harder for iranians to immigrate to the United States.
