It's true that, if humans were to go extinct, all of the human-created environmental issues such as excessive greenhouse emissions, overhunting/overfishing leading to endangered species, and various other disruptions to the natural order would go away eventually. If one considers that the "health" of the planet to depend on being covered once again with lush flora and animals living their course without any interruptions, then yes, humans going extinct would be for the best of this planet. However, before humanity, the things that a lot of species do was be born, live their lives, reproduce, and die. There was almost no skills or knowledge being accumulated and passed on, preventing any progress from being made. Enter humans; we've been able to create civilizations and make a lot of scientific advances and discovered a lot of things that other animals on earth had not encountered before. Theoretically, assuming no outside threat hinders us, we'll be able to progress past this planet and into space.
