I became more creative and had themes for the day's lessons. One day is was as simple as "Muggles Elearning". Everything that day was written to my Muggles. Mairy Zent inspired our team to be creative and have our kids do their work in a fort they built. My theme for the day was forts. Some students even named theirs. From Angela

I used creativity in my lessons last week. Because I had the same students do e-learning every day, and the same students not do it, I did projects on Thursday and Friday that required my students to learn about the Polar Vortex and to interview someone at home. I also chose exciting brain breaks and did fun intro videos to keep the students engaged.

I was able to continue our learning from the classroom by building on concepts each day. For example, we are working on persuasive writing. The writing e-learning mini-lessons continued to teach students the steps to writing persuasively by building on the teaching point from the day before, and adding a new goal for them to try in their writing.

It was nice to bounce ideas of each other to help ensure that we have fun, yet academic lessons for the 4th grader's elearning. I also became more proficient on Canvas because I had to create and troubleshoot my modules for 4 days! I used life skills like perseverance.

It was great to bounce ideas off of each other. Personally, I used many Lifeskills:) It stretched my "techno-skills" but allowed me to be more creative at the same time. It was nice to get a few positive comments from kiddos and parents in the midst of such a trying week:)

I definitely felt like I had to stretch my own learning as well as theirs.

Due to our many days off, I tried to be creative in the ways that I connected my e-Learning lessons each day and also in how I connected my lessons to what we were learning in the classroom. Last week we began learning about the characteristics of a Fable, so an assignment one day was to listen to a Fable read aloud, and the next day, the students explained how the story was a Fable in a Canvas discussion. I also downloaded all of my students' habitat research presentations that we had just finished and posted them in an assignment as a fun way for each student to "share" their work and explore the hard work of others in our classroom.

Betsy

Having 4 days in a row was a bit challenging and a good chance to be creative in choosing topics and projects/activities. It was different to be able to continue a few lessons over a few days. It was fun to share ideas and even build a Team Day of activities with my team. Finally figured out that I don't mind making Welcome Videos anymore, as long as I can wear a hat in the morning!
