This week I found out about my exhibition group. I found that I worked well with them. We started to work on our goals and essential agreements as soon as the last member of our group arrived from holiday. We all had to sign the agreement in order to show that we agreed on it and well try our best to obey it. We worked on it for a lot of time and we also included a program which if someone disobeyed a rule, they will lose a life, each person has five lives. If someone had no lives, they would have to write a reflection to show what he/she could improve. We also had our group photo taken by Mr. king.

On Friday afternoon, we did some group activities together to interact. The game was Minecraft, I liked the way we cooperated, but I think we could still improve.

Our exhibition issue is Determining personal and international conflict, we chose this subject because we wanted to inquire into resolving conflicts and why we have conflicts. we had a conflict inside our group today. It was my turn to set the goals and when I got back, Daniel had given my beanbag to Ethan when I had specifically asked him to keep it safe for me. Next time, I think I should ask Daniel face to face instead of just casually reminding him. If this happens again, I would've just talked to Daniel instead of involving the teacher. And to talk to Daniel in a friendlier tone.

This week we had another mentor meeting. Today we discussed about how we could minimize the impact of conflicts on our world and also on how we could express our exhibition. We decided of making a video and using websites and comics to make it as interesting as possible for all ages. We also thought of trying to interview Mrs Emma and other students during Exhibition hours and lunch 🍴 time. I wanted to use a choose your own adventure book on conflict to help. Daniel and Kenny said that it could wait. I also thought that we should also include two or three more videos to help everyone understand conflicts better. Our mentor suggested that we should use Minecraft to help us understand what people would do in a situation of conflict. I suggested a one brick bridge across a lava chasm. In all I thought that our mentor meeting this week was very successful and we should keep doing.

Today was the first time I had ever met Mrs.Annalise. We discussed about our central idea and also about why we chose this topic. We also debated about how personal conflicts can affect international issues. Mrs.Annalise was very nice and explained to us about several major conflicts and there causes over the last century. She also explained to us that small things are the result of many things. We also shared experiences in our lives that involves conflict. She told us to inquire into what is good about conflict and what we could learn from it. I learned that a primary source of information is important in a presentation.

We solved most of our problems with a method of compromising and it was very affective but I think we still could improve, some people in our group blame all the problems on others and that could cause many issues and dissatisfactions.

I think I should be more focused and also to cooperate better with my group. We had people messing around and also others who were sitting around and doing nothing.
For example, today we had a minor disagreement about who was going to get the timeline. I think we should begin to take action, not just be half into exhibition. But to be totally into exhibition. I think that our group needs even more improvement and motivation in order to con tinue. We had been too soft on ourselves and should push ourselves to our limits.

We chose causation because without knowing the real cause of the conflict, you couldn't reslove it.

Today we started the timeline for our exhibition. It is about different wars and conflicts and when they start and end. We want the audience to come and guess at what time what happened. We also started drawing our title and fun facts. Today, we worked well together and mostly avoided conflict. I think that we should improve our cooperation and collaboration skills, but we acceded in our confidence and we believed that we would successfully finish exhibition.

In all, I believe that today, we had achieved very much, not only because we started our timeline, but achieved better cooperation and collaboration skills.

Mentor meeting

Today during mentor meeting our team discussed about how we can improve on our final product. We suggested ways like fun facts and a timeline. I personally think that we could create a better presentation by using conflict and having them resolve it. Ms Annalise suggested that we could make/stir up conflict and try to resolve it by using a positive method of gaming.

Daniel said to stir up a conflict by using Minecraft. He would give one person only a leather helmet and a wooden sword while the other person got a whole set of dimond armor and an enchanted dimond sword. Then, we will ask the person with the better treatment to hit the other person, and when the other person gets angry, conflict starts. I agree with Daniel's thinking and also think that we should not interfer with the conflict until the conflict gets out of control. It is all the better if they resolve it by themselves.
