(Young acting old, Too Cool)
LaJumboTron had been in the situation many times before, and he knew exactly what he was doing. He was at a party and nobody there recognized him except for his own group of friends, because he wasn't even at their school yet. He walked his swaggy walk over to the group of pretty ladies, and had his usual chill conversation. It wasn't until the prettiest girl of them all asked his grade level, that he felt flustered. He would never let anyone see this side of him, so he quickly changed the topic in hopes they wouldn't think twice about it. Luckily for LaJumboTron, they were distracted by the drip he had recently bought, because he saw the freshest senior wearing it, so they didn't notice. In the end, LaJumboTron had all the ladies, and no questions were asked.

He hadn't left his house in three months because of COVID-19, because of his extremely high risk of death from catching it. He scratched his grey head in frustration as he decided he wasn't hungry and told the at-home nurse to take it back to the chef.

Jimmy sat and stared forward as his second grade math book phased in and out of view. Thoughts whirled through his head, spinning and ripping and twisting so violently that the lucky charms he gulped down for breakfast rose dangerously in his throat. What if I completely fail my life and my future careers only lead to dead ends? What if I disappoint my family? What if I die alone? The child seated across from him sung his leg and kicked Jimmy, knocking him from his daze. Thereafter, Jimmy watched as the boy dug a booger about the size of a pea from his left nostril. I'll be out of here soon enough, Jimmy thought to himself. Plus, I can't possibly fail worse than that kid.

With rosy cheeks and a smile like no other she sat at the head of the table. Everyone was watching as she opened her birthday presents, wondering many thoughts. Would I get everything I had hoped to get? If I don't like a present can I return it? All things running through her mind. With a quick shake and look around the room she guessed who had gifted her it, and what it was. Ripping, tearing, and finally throwing the wrapping paper, she could finally see the shiny casing around the brand-new doll. Her eyes lit up with joy. Best day ever.

John sat in a booth at a small diner with a group of his friends. He lazily picked at hangnails as he listened as they droned on and on about how cool it would be to be immortal. Sure, immortality seemed cool in theory, but John could attest that in practice, it sucks. Instead of voicing his opinion on immortality, he just replied with his typical, sarcastic quips, which further fueled his friends’ discussion. Though he would rather not talk about the eternal torture known as immortality, he forced himself to stay; it wasn’t like he had much else to do.

The food at the diner was mediocre at best. The chicken noodle soup was cold, and the crackers were stale. He sipped his tea while staring at the clock. He grimaced and set it down—way too sweet.

Nighttime was even more boring if that was even possible. There is no point to relationships when everyone dies except you, so he lied in his bed alone. Tomorrow would be the same as every other day: get up, get dressed, eat breakfast, go to work, come home, and brood instead of sleeping. He figured he should be upset, but he knew it wouldn’t fix anything or make him feel better.

With a swift flip of her long, luscious locks behind her shoulder, she did a little preaching to those "childish" kids she called classmates, "Well, if you had the newest iPhone that my mommy got me, you could play all those games and more on THERE! I can call and text all my older, cool friends and I am able to take care of my teenage issues too."
The other kids laughed at her, knowing that they were only in 4th grade, but Mary just got angrier. It feels like a ferris wheel that never stops, everything just keeps going round and round. I feel like a flustered bees nest that was just hit by a baseball bat. The next chapter is beginning in the next couple months and I don’t know if i’m ready. Packing up my childhood room, hand picking the clothes I want to bring because all of them won’t fit in the tiny new closet I get. Will I make new friends? Will I stay in touch with my old ones? Will I pass my midterms? Am I fit for college? Ugh I just don’t know.

The world is full of bad things and bad people, how will I ever be good enough? She saw the big city as if she had never been there before, yet she lived in a bubble her entire life, that she never truly lived. The greenness of the trees looked different, the sound of the car horns, loud and noisy but nothing like she has ever heard before. Different perspective and outlook on life, one that is terrifying but it has to be done at some point. She is alone, ready to take on what may be an extremely successful path in life, or a terribly bad experience that would ruin her and cause her to not want to go on. A changing point, one that every person must go through, but is so different from one another. The big change.

"Cassie, you said that last time and remembered what happened?" firmly stated the father. Cassie thought back as if to have a flashback and images of a pink cast on her left arm and weeks of pain scars her. "Ok but that was last summer, i'm basically an adult now! I am a WHOLE 6 years old. I need TWO hands for how many years I am!" she retaliated. The father sighed and gave into his daughters pleas. He bent down and began to unscrew the rusty screws from the white training wheels that had been bolted onto the bright pink bike for safety. Cassie began to jump with glee and her light up sketchers light up just like her eyes. "Thank you! Thank you!" she squealed. "I am still going to have to hold onto you until I can trust you can do it yourself" stated the father. "But daaaaaaaaaaaaad!"

Summer was coming to an end, and was school quickly approaching. Children all over the small town had no other choice than to start preparing for the upcoming school year. Majority of the kids dreaded this time of year. Except for one particular student, Sally. Sally was the kid that read 132 chapter books and studied all of her math facts during the summer. When she wasn't occupied with those activities you would see her with a smile from ear to ear and with two high pigtails on top of her head riding down the road on a pink bike. Unlike all the other kids, Sally has been prepared for the school year since probably the second day of summer. She had all matching and color coded sets for each of her classes. Everything was labeled and ready to go. Most kids hated this time of year, Sally on the other hand, loved it!

Good enough. Got four hours of sleep? Good enough. Got a C on that test? Good enough. Time was better spent doing anything else. With everything crashing down like it was at that point, responsibility was only an abstract thought. It was hard to blame him.

Prestige and wisdom is something that people don't wake up one morning with. However, the thing about Olivia is that at age 9 she was already under the impression that she had reached maturation. Always thinking ten steps ahead of the person next to her and being ready for what ever life had in store. As one could expect, Olivia was still just a nieve nine year old who had barely brushed the surface of life. She finally came to this realization when walking home from middle school. She had strolled this path nearly every day for the past two years. Blindfolded, she would have still been able to find her way across the rickety wooden bridge, the busy intersection and even through the woods, which she used as a shortcut. Anyways, as Olivia walked alongside the busy road, rushing with cars, a man also did so. Looking him up and down, she picked apart everything from hs choice in torn apart sneakers to unshaven stubble. She knew she was better than him and would never end up as out of shape and disgusting. Stuck in her belittling thoughts, Olivia didn't notice a speeding car coming her way, and grazing the side of her. A sudden force pushed her onto the overgrown sidewalk. To her surprise, the same man she had been ridiculing in her mind had pushed her out of the way of the speeding vehicle, saving her life.

Eager and ready to go & Just entering adulthood
Letting the days go by, Just passing time each day just like the previous. Feeling like they are in a constant never ending loop. Thinking they could do alot more with their time, but having no motivation to do more than 2 hours worth of work a day. Not allowed to go anywhere but on random drives at 9pm. The next chapter will begin soon enough, still waiting for it to become reality.
