She told me that she was 21 at the time that 9/11 occurred. She knew that she was safe during 9/11 because she was working in California, and at her job everybody stopped working to watch the news. When the first plane hit one of the towers my mom was confused and thought that it was an accident, but when the second plane crashed into the second tower she knew it was an attack. She said it took 8-10 months until people didn´t talk about the topic and it wasn´t on the news anymore.
