During my observations I met a bunch of really cool kids. Most of the kids I met had A.D.H.D or A.D.D. One of the kiddos had O.D. I was also surprised to learn that some of the kids in the sped classroom were diagnosed.

The Sped classroom had plenty of different learning areas for the students. While observing, we sat at a half round table. The students sat next to each other while the teacher sat in front of them. She was able to have good eye contact with them while teaching her lesson.

The sped teacher was incredible! She had ALOT of patience and always kept a smile on her face. When one of the students wasn't engaged in the learning activity she would stop the activity and remind the student of what they were supposed to be doing. She gave positive reinforcement by giving the students tickets so they could earn a prize at the end of the week.

This was such a wonderful experience. These teachers are amazing. I'm not sure if i cut out for sped learners, but I can see how amazing it would be to work with these unique individuals. I liked how the classroom was set up. There were lots of engaging items for the students to look at and play with.
