The Korean War was a big part of the Cold War because it was the first war where the two countries had a proxy between them. This was the biggest crisis between the USSR and the United States. The United States had thought if communism was spread into one country, it would spread into all. If the United States didn't do anything to stop communism from spreading, all countries would be a communist country now. The United States had now has permanent military involvement around the world. There was a course change of the U.S. national security policy which led to security around the world.
