This can be used for the students to dig in dirt/mulch for extended sensory input.

     These can be used to find different shapes and colors.
- dirt
     This can be used to help learn about different textures.(smooth, bumpy, rough,etc.)

     This can help learn sizes (different pieces of mulch are different sizes some large some small)

      This helps explain texture, specifically about the term "smooth"

    The students can draw what they see.

This article above shows the benefits of using nature in the classroom. By learning through nature children are able to be more hands on with what they are learning and more engaged with the sensory aspects surrounding them on a daily basis. These aspects can help preschoolers apply what they have talked about in the classroom in a real life setting and environment they may have access to daily while at school or at home.

Through the website above it is explained how it is important for children to be able to explore in a garden type setting with dirt, rocks, twigs, and sand. This also uses the five senses to engage the children in learning. Through this article it shows how much success children have learning through nature based activities. This helps with my curriculum because it explains how many different types of materials nature has to offer depending on what type of setting you are in. This includes parks, gardens, and playgrounds.
