This is my rayograph. In this image, I have a glue bottle, scissors, pens, a marker, a bracelet, and a necklace. When getting these objects at home, I thought about what would be see through, and what would come up differently than it looked. I never thought that the marker would be somewhat see through when I picked it out at home. Overall, I thought I this was a very good way to get myself used to the chemicals in the dark room and to get me used to the enlarger. Finally, I thought this was a very cool project in general and it was very fun!

This is my first assignment. I took a picture of a tree branch outside on of the windows at the high school. My inspiration was the calm feeling of it. There was the gentle upper side lighting and I was below the branch. Seeing this just gave me the feeling of being relaxed and everything was calm. Furthermore, I also wanted the viewer to get that same feeling of being relaxed and calm. That is my inspiration for the angle and the lighting of the shot.

Next, this picture is lighting. The tractor is receiving upper lighting from the sun. The reason I took this picture was because I am a farm kid. I love country music and I love driving the tractor around my yard. I want people who see this image to get the same feeling of being free in the countryside that I get when I am in my backyard.

Lastly, this image is for lighting and angel. The lighting from the sun is straight above it. With the roof at the bottom and a huge tree top in the upper portion of the picture. I took this picture because I felt that if one was up where the picture was taken, he or she would feel like they are flying and feeling free. That was the inspiration for the picture.

Secondly, this is the second print for this project. I captured movement for the first time. This was the candid shot for the portrait. My sister was just playing catch and she missed the throw. As she was running away, I quickly took my camera out and took the shot of my sister without her even knowing. It was not a very difficult shot, at least, not as difficult as getting the picture of my dog.

To begin, this is the first picture for the portrait project. Surprisingly, this was a very difficult photo to take. I know that this would be harder because its a living moving thing, so it would not be like taking a picture of an object. However, normally my dog sits still so I did not think that it would be the hard. It turned out to be very difficult. This was the only photo that actually turned out that was not blurry. This was the best one with detail as well. (This was the posed shot)

Lastly, this is the self portrait for the choice image. It was a picture that I kind of just took because I had a few photos left on my roll of film, so I just got creative. I could not get the right angle just holding the camera up at me, so I took the mirror in the kitchen and took a few pictures. It turned out nice, and that was very surprising.

This is a picture of the lighting in my kitchen. I like this photo because the structure is very beautiful and the scene presents a quiet feeling to me. This was a very interesting picture as well because there was a slight blur and nothing was perfectly in focus, causing the eye to travel much more than if one portion was in focus.

This image is the chains of the swing in my backyard. The Chains is probably my favorite image for two reasons, one being the contrast. There is an even balance between light, dark, and grey tones. The second reason being the blurred structure in the background. I think it adds an interesting touch to the picture and both are in the rule of thirds. Through techniques and camera settings, I think that this is the best picture I have taken.

This is the first image I have for the landscape project. During the printing process, for the first time I used the dodging method. It was actually not as hard as I had originally thought it would be. In this photo, I captured a little motion blur from the ball, but other than that, I thought the image was really clear and well printed. This was the first time I turned in a photo with no dust or scratch marks, and I am proud of that.

Finally, this is the second photo for the landscape project. This is my favorite of the two because of the feeling I get when I see this image. I feel very calm and relaxed, and this was just a lucky time of day that I was home to take this image. My favorite part of this image is the bird bath sitting on the stump. I like how its a big tree next to something that is smaller, and it just looks pretty cool. This was a lucky photo that I'm glad I took.
