There were a lot of wars and battles to conquer the lands and get the control.

First, the Visigoth kingdom occupied the Iberian Penisula during 200 years.

After, the Muslims occupied the territory during 700 years.

Later, the Christian kingdoms conquered the whole Penisula.

Before the fall of the Roman Empire, the Suebi, the Alans and the Vandals fought against the Romans who asked for help from  the Visigoths who did not prevent their fall.  

The Visigoths who spoke Latin and used Roman laws and their Christian religion stayed here.  Then the Muslims invaded the Iberian peninsula, who spoke in Arabic and had three religions: Christianity, Jewish and Muslim.  

And finally the Christian empire which was positioned in the mountains above Hispania decided to attack the Muslims and sent them to the south of Hispania.  By religion they had only Christianity and the one who had power was the king and below were the nobles and clergymen and below these were the peasants and merchants.
